Monday Astronomy Picture Ponderings (MAPPs)

A pair of interacting galaxies called Arp 273 by NASA, ESA and the Hubble Heritage Team, originally pulled by the author from the Astropix collection. The larger, top galaxy is a spiral, similar to our own Milky Way while the smaller one at the bottom is more elliptical. Both show signs of signs of distortion due to their interactions with each other.
The Perseverance Rover on Mars takes a picture of the Martian landscape. The Rover takes up most of the right side of the image, showing off its intricate parts and instruments. Hills and maybe mountains can be seen in the distance as well as a variety of rocks of different colors, shapes and sizes littering the Martian plain it is in.
